Inspired by the performance tradition of Korean pansori and the sonic ritual practices of female Korean shamans (mudang), this polyvocal, multilayered electronic music piece considers the possibility of sonic interventions into and transformations of our collective, shared, and material spaces – both real and imagined. Source sounds from pansori master vocalist, Ahn Sook-Sun.

Welcome to the 2nd Spaceout International Ambisonics Festival 2025! Join us at the Chip Davis Technology Studio to celebrate and experience Ambisonics – an immersive audio technology that surrounds you with sound in 3D space. The festival will feature peer-reviewed Ambisonic compositions and performances from all around the world. Spaceout will be held in the Chip Davis Technology Studio, located on the lower floor of the Earl V. Moore Building in Ann Arbor, MI. The event will span three concerts on October 16 at 7:00 pm, October 17 at 12:30 pm, and October 17 at 4:30 pm. All three events are open to the public and free to attend with limited seating.

a•pe•ri•od•ic is thrilled to welcome BONNIE HAN JONES to Chicago for a residency and portrait concert to help celebrate her upcoming move to the midwest. Han Jones has prepared two scores Memory Work and Echoic Memory for a•pe•ri•od•ic that explore themes of sonic memory, archives, improvisation, and collective transformation. Han Jones will open the evening with an electroacoustic improvisation.
