Ten Pounds To The Sound is proud to present the 2nd edition of No Idea 2010 // Seeds + Systems. This year’s festival is focusing on a series of strong, consolidated smaller events (seeds) in the spirit of connecting international artists, audiences, presenters and organizations with the intention of helping to facilitate greater exchange between creative musicians internationally, and between México and the US specifically (systems).

For the second edition, No Idea 2010 is happy to present a small ensemble featuring three of the leading lights of US improvisation. Local percussionist Chris Cogburn is joined by New Orleans saxophonist Bhob Rainey and Baltimore electronic musician Bonnie Jones. The trio will perform two nights in Austin and Marfa, Texas to share and develop their music in preparation for travels to Mexico City for No Idea events in May 2010. In Mexico City Cogburn, Rainey and Jones will collaborate with a host of Mexican sound artists, visual artists and improvisors from throughout Mexico. Their generative work together in Texas in April 2010 will provide the seed and impetus for future collaborations with US and Mexican artists in Austin and abroad.

Artist bios, venue information and information on performances in Mexico City will be on the No Idea website, posted by April 5, 2010. For the most updated information, please visit: http://www.noideafestival.com
